MESS Daily Source Code Snapshots

The source code here is provided to encourage new developers to the MESS project. The MESS team does not have the time or resources to provide any support for the source code obtained here. Additionally, there are no guarantees that the source code snapshot will even compile for any given day.

Usage Instructions (Click Here for Linux):

  1. Compile MAME.  If you have not already done so, you should first compile MAME in order to become acclimated with the compile process, and to ensure you have all the software components necessary to compile MAME and MESS.
  2. Obtain the bzip2, and GNU patch programs (DJGPP provides a patch binary for DOS.)
  3. Unzip the latest public MESS source overrides over your MAME sources.
  4. Download and bunzip2 the patch file listed below in your C:\ directory.
  5. cd into the directory where your MAME/MESS sources were unzipped.
  6. Run patch -p4 < C:\mess-patch-YYYYMMDD to patch your sources.
  7. Modify the file makefile.mes to suit your needs.
  8. Run make -f makefile.mes to compile.

The current patch is made against a MAME 0.56 core.
